Mesoscale modeling and experimental analyses for pantographic cells: Effect of hinge deformation

چکیده

In order to synthesize exotic metamaterials, it was proposed use as elementary components of metamaterial microstructures so-called pantographic cells. The a mesomodel based on Euler–Bernoulli nonlinear beam theory is utilized for describing their behavior when characteristic sizes are the millimeters. With an in-house code, in which connecting hinges were modeled elastic extensional and torsional elements, simulations performed compared with experimental data. comparison carried out compression extension tests. It proven, both numerically experimentally, that undergo different deformation mechanisms. As consequence, tests, distribution total value strain energy vary significantly. analysis made possible parts via Digital Image Correlation, allows kinematic fields be measured hypotheses employed developing model probed experimentally.
